Conversations through Shared Weight: Fundamentals for Weight Sharing in CI

This series is a fundamentals series that will focus on (but not exclusively work with) skills for communicating through and about the sharing of weight, including deepening our awareness of where and how weight is held and given, noticing and providing invitations for weight sharing, finding and creating pathways into and out of weight sharing, and ways to help reduce risk and injury when playing with shared shared weight.
As a fundamentals class, this is an all levels class. It has a focus, but will include a broad range of CI skills. More experienced dancers will have much to deepen into both skills they may have explored in the past, but also integrating and practicing layers which are woven into the material while new dancers will get context and support even if they have no prior experience.
The material will build upon itself, so it’s recommended to attend the series, but allowed to join individual classes or part way, however for safety and skill development newer dancers who haven’t already explored weight sharing are strongly encouraged and recommended to join from the beginning.
